Joseph Danavi, DO, FACC

Dr. Joseph V. Danavi is a general cardiologist at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute in Elmhurst.

Dr. Danavi attended the University of Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. His doctorate of osteopathic medicine is from Touro University College of Medicine in Vallejo, California. His residency in internal medicine was completed at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, where he was named Chief Resident in Quality and Patient Safety for his strong commitment to leadership and quality improvement. His cardiology fellowship was completed at the University of Illinois.

Dr. Danavi is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and nuclear cardiology. He provides comprehensive cardiovascular care, with a focus on prevention and advanced imaging for structural heart interventions, including the WATCHMAN device implantation. His dedication to global health has earned him recognitions such as Assyrian American Man of the Year and his membership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society. His involvement in clinical research trials also show his commitment to cardiovascular research and advancement of the field.

Dr. Danavi is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology and the American Society for Nuclear Cardiology. In addition to English, he also speaks Assyrian, Aramaic and Syriac.
