About Osama Qaqi, MD




Osama M. Qaqi, MD, FACC, is an interventional cardiologist at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute in Naperville and Plainfield, IL. He obtained his Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical University of the Americas in St. Kitts and Nevis and pursued his residency in internal medicine at DMC Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Qaqi then completed his fellowship in cardiology at DMC/Wayne State University, where he also served as Chief Fellow in the Department of Internal Medicine/Interventional Cardiology.

Throughout his career, Dr. Qaqi has demonstrated a deep commitment to excellence in patient care and medical research. Dr. Qaqi’s commitment to excellence is underscored by his board certifications in internal medicine, echocardiography, general and interventional cardiology. He specializes in the treatment of Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Artery Disease, Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism. 

Dr. Qaqi’s passion for innovation and research is evident through his extensive contributions to presentations and publications. His work spans topics such as endovascular treatment, catheter-directed thrombolysis, and longitudinal strain profiles in cardiomyopathy, showcasing his dedication to advancing the field of cardiology.
