Uday Patel, DO

Dr. Uday Patel is a board-certified cardiologist at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute in Naperville, specializing in comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care. He has particular interests in cardiac imaging and preventive cardiology.

Dr. Patel earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, in 2012, and his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 2017. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Illinois, in 2020, where he served as Chief Resident. He continued his training at the same institution with a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease, completed in 2023. His fellowship included focused experiences in advanced cardiac imaging at Loyola University Medical Center and in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Patel is nationally board certified in Internal Medicine and Adult Cardiovascular Disease. He also holds additional national board certifications in Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT).

He is passionate about delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care across the spectrum of cardiovascular disease, with an emphasis on risk factor modification and early detection through noninvasive imaging. He has contributed to multiple research publications and presentations and remains actively involved in medical education, quality improvement initiatives, and community outreach. Outside of medicine, his interests include traveling, photography, biking, pickleball, cars, technology, and spending time with friends and family.
